How high should a standing desk be? How large of a standing desk should I get? Everyone's office desk needs vary, but generally speaking a large standing desk is classified as such if it is the following:
(1) Width: 32 inches or larger (2) Maximum height: 16.5 inches or higher (for desktop converters) (3) Depth: 20 inches or more
We carry a line of large standing desks that fit the above criteria that are either standing desk converters or full standing desks. If you have a large office workspace with a nice office desk that you can't part with, then any of the sitting to standing desk converters below work. Or if you're looking to replace your existing desk setup then the Electric Standing Desk or any of our adjustable height standing conference tables also double as full standing desks.

This great illustration by the Mayo Clinic shows what the proper office ergonomics of a standing workstation are, such as the correct standing desk height and where to place your computer. According to the Mayo Clinic:
"when using a standing workstation, keep your head, neck, torso and legs approximately in line and vertical. Use a standing desk footrest to shift your weight from foot to foot. Wear shoes that provide proper support." (Source: Mayo Clinic)
What are Standard Desk Dimensions?
Do you have an existing office desk that you want to keep as part of your new ergonomic desk setup? If so, and if you're looking to convert your desk into a standing desk using a manual standing desk converter, then it is important to know all of the dimensions of the manual standing desk and how it would fit on your office desk.
To the left is a picture of a desk with standard desk dimensions. The standard desktop height is 29 to 30 inches (76cm | 0.76m). The standard desk depth is 30 inches (76cm | 0.76m) and the standard desk width is 60 inches (152cm | 1.52m). As a reminder, what we consider to be a large manual standing desk is anything 32 inches or wider with a maximum height of greater than 16 inches. A 32 inch wide desktop converter will take up a little more than half your office desk and overall height will be from 30 inches to 50 inches depending on the standing desk height range.
Large Standing Desk Dimensions
As mentioned above, a large standing desk (desktop converter) has:
(1) a minimum width of 32 inches (2) a maximum desktop height of at least 16 inches (3) a minimum depth of 20 inches
Keep all of these dimensions in mind when and shopping for a manual standing desk converter and measure and visualize what it will look like on top of your existing office desk.
